The Excellent Discover Rewards Program

Discover Card has been providing me with a lot of ‘free stuff' lately so I need to give it a proverbial shout out. Okay, the credit card has not been indiscriminately showering me with free gifts. Rather, it has provided me with access to its rewards program. That alone has proven to be a huge positive and a major reason why I recommend the card so enthusiastically.

Before I get into the specifics of the rewards program, let's take a look at Discover....

Discover Card does not always get the credit it is due. Originally conceived as The Diner's Club Card, Discover slowly emerged in prominence over the past decade. It is not, however, as popular of a credit card as Visa or Mastercard. Perhaps that is why Discover offers such a generous rewards program. It is seeking to draw in new members and the rewards program it offers definitely can help in that regard.

The way the Discover Card rewards program works is relatively simple. You receive a small amount of credit that accumulates as you use the card. Once you reach a certain threshold, you can use the points to "purchase" various retail items. Unlike certain reward programs, you are not limited to a particular retail store.

With this program, you can purchase from a number of different sellers that cover a wide array of retail sales. So, no matter what type of merchandise you are seeking, you can probably find it with ease through any number of the participating retailers in this program.

All in all, I have to say the Discover Card rewards program remains one of the most generous programs in all of the credit card industry. This is why it is so popular and also why it remains so highly recommended.
