Credit Cards Airmiles Explained!

Let’s talk about credit cards Airmiles. I’m pretty certain we’ve all heard the term before, but how many of us actually know what they are, how they work and how we can use them to our benefit?

credit card airmiles We should start with what they are. Airmiles are a type of reward offered by particular credit cards and is very simple really. Each time you make a purchase on your airmiles credit card your card provider will reward you with ‘airmiles’ or points. The more you spend, the more you will earn. Then when you have enough points collected, you can redeem them against free airline tickets!

So the more airmiles you collect, the further you can fly for free! Sounds great doesn’t it? For you to really get the most out of your airmiles credit card, you either need to use your credit card for large expensive purchases or you need to use it regularly for your everyday spending such as groceries and gas. This way you will build up a healthy airmile balance quite quickly!

An important point to remember is that you are rewarded for a purchase only once, regardless of how long you carry the balance. So if you decide to put all of your regular daily spending on your card, you can then pay off the balance on the same day and still be rewarded with the points! This way you’ll be building up points weekly, without actually incurring any interest or charges on your balance!

Try replacing your banks debit card with your airmiles credit card. Use it for a few weeks for your spending, then simply clear the balance with the cash that was left untouched in your bank account! Also don’t forget, if you put your vacation on your card, you can start gathering points towards next years free trip! You’ll be quite surprised at how quickly you can collect your points and build up your airmiles!

credit cards airmiles There are many different providers who offer credit cards airmiles. Most of the main airlines offer their own branded card with airmiles, as do the major card companies such as American Express and Chase Bank. However, as usual it is important to be sensible and think carefully before committing yourself to an airline credit card.

Interest rates will vary depending on the card and provider, as will any possible annual fee, so make sure you check the details. We also suggest you only consider opening an airmiles credit card if you can manage an account sensibly and responsibly.
